The purpose of CAJA of Marshall County is the protection of abused and neglected children within the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court system.

CAJA volunteers are appointed by a Judge to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in court in Marshall County. They independently and comprehensively investigate the child’s circumstances; facilitate community services for the child and family; provide a written report to the court; and monitor the case to ensure compliance with the court orders. In 1997, CAJA (Court Appointed Juvenile Advocacy) Board of Marshall County graduated its first class of volunteer advocates and Juvenile Court Judge David Evans swore them in as Officers of the Court. Today, CAJA continues to train volunteers to stand up for the children of Marshall County.

Our Goal is to support the troops that are serving now, and those who have served in the past. We advocate patriotism and fellowship. The VFW traces its roots back to 1899 when Veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service: Many arrived home wounded or sick. There was no medical care or veterans pension for them, and they were left to care for themselves. In their misery, some of these veterans banded together and formed organizations with what would become known as the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. After chapters were formed in Ohio, Colorado, and Pennsylvania, the movement quickly gained momentum. By 1915, membership grew to 5000; by 1936, membership was almost 200,000.

GAP Marshall County Guardianship Program is based upon the need of guardians for elderly and/or adults with disabilities. These individuals may not have family willing or able to be a guardian, so a volunteer is appointed by the court system. Working closely with the County Conservator and GAP, the Guardian becomes a friend and ensures that the individual's needs are met. If you are interested in helping "fill the gap" with love for those who can no longer care for themselves by becoming a GAP volunteer, please contact us by email, phone, or on Facebook.

We must remember our Aniyunwiya (Cherokee) ancestors, to pass on their culture, so they can't be forgotten. To help and serve one another for everyone's benefit. The less debating, fighting, and grudges we hold the sooner our lives, our communities, and our world will be a better place to live. Our history is different than those whose ancestors were removed. Remember the Treaty of New Echota and the selling of our Tribal lands. We seek unity now for all Tribes, Nations and Bands of Aniyunwiya (Cherokee), we united together are the Ani-Yun'wi'ya, the "Principal People", apart we are but lost. Remember we are the "Keepers of the Sacred Fire". Remembering this is a moral obligation to our posterity.

The Department of Human Resources was created in 1935 to administer the assistance programs that were part of the Social Security Act. These programs were developed to help an American public that was suffering through the financial hardships of the Great Depression. The agency's original name was the Department of Public Welfare. In 1955, it was renamed the Department of Pensions and Security. The current name was adopted in 1986. Some programs have changed over the years to meet the changing needs of Alabama. However, the agency's primary goal has always been and always will be to help people in need. The agency currently has about 4,000 State Merit System employees, most of whom work in the agency's 67 county departments. Although the agency employs a wide variety of professionals, social workers represent the largest category of DHR employees.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of the One true God; that Jesus is God-in-the -flesh; that man was cut off from God’s life by sin & needed a savior to recover; that Jesus lived & died to reconnect us; and that happens when we trust what he did to be effective for us, surrendering to Him as our Lord & Savior. We believe that we can personally experience the increasing fullness of God in our lives as we submit to His lordship & accept the empowerment of His Spirit promised to all who believe & receive; that the power of God’s Spirit makes supernatural abilities & miracles available to believers today; That we are responsible to share the good news of salvation and will give an account for the life lived on this earth- with eternal punishment awaiting those who refuse Christ & eternal fulfillment awaiting those who follow Him. We believe that Christ will rapture His church and physically return to rule & reign in a new heaven & earth, forever.

Lamplight Summer Camp is a free summer program on the edge of Guntersville Lake where teens practice leadership and service by running the camp themselves and doing projects for their community. Along the way, campers learn real-world skills and how to live together as a community. At Lamplight, campers are responsible for making important decisions about the direction of the program and then making sure those decisions are implemented.

The Guntersville Church of Christ is made up of imperfect people who are being perfected by the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are an independent group of Christians who look to the Holy Bible as the infallible word of God. Our enduring mission is model the church we read about in the New Testament. While we share the name Church of Christ with many other congregations throughout the world we are an independent group of Christians. We are not tied to any national or international bureaucracy. The Guntersville Church of Christ’s sole guide is the Holy Bible. We believe the Word of God provides us with all of the necessary information needed to fulfill His will for us as individuals and as a congregation.
